Tennis Picks 2018 (February 12th)

I have been suffering from 'man flu' over the last couple of days and any recovery was not helped by a ridiculous Saturday from the tennis picks.

David Goffin began things by failing to see out a 40-0 lead and losing three games in a row when he needed one more game to cover, while Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was leading 6-1, 5-3 before any injury forced him out of his own Semi Final.

You can't really do much about that because both picks should have won, but it has been something about the way things have gone that so many picks in 2018 have fallen so close to the line and yet we are only in the second week of February.

A bit more luck will be asked for when we head into a big week of four tournaments being played on both the ATP and WTA Tours combined. The two events in Doha and Rotterdam are the big ones this week with some top names involved, but the new tournament in New York and the continuation of the 'Golden Swing' in South America will also be of interest.


As I finally begin to recover from what has been an irritating cold, I should have full posts later this week if any matches appeal to me.
