It was no surprise that the two leading players in the men's game at the ATP World Tour Finals are now on a collision course in the Final on Sunday, but neither Novak Djokovic nor Roger Federer can take their Semi Final matches as a guarantee win.
Both are very professional and I have no doubt that they will respect what Kei Nishikori and Stan Wawrinka can bring to the court, but I would be surprised if what we have seen so far this week does not lead to the Federer-Djokovic Final that most would have predicted.
Novak Djokovic - 5.5 games v Kei Nishikori: The first Semi Final sees the World Number 1 Novak Djokovic take on Kei Nishikori, the player that knocked him out at the US Open in the Semi Final.
Djokovic got a measure of revenge by dismissing Nishikori at the Paris Masters and the way he has played this week suggests he can record something similar to that 63, 62 result in this Semi Final. The conditions seem to be perfect for Djokovic this week and he has little problem in getting through the Group, while Nishikori is definitely carrying a knock.
When Nishikori stepped up in class in the Group, Roger Federer was too strong for him and while Novak Djokovic isn't as aggressive as Federer, he is a better returner and I think his consistency wears down Nishikori.
Another fast start could see Djokovic run away with this Semi Final, but I think Nishikori makes it competitive for a while in what will eventually be a 64, 62 win for the World Number 1.

Regular picks are made from the football (soccer), tennis, NFL/College Football and NBA Basketball. I also devote a spot entirely to Manchester United, my first love in life, called 'United Corner' where I express my views on all things concerning this wonderful club. I hope you enjoy your time here.
