Wimbledon Tennis Day 13 Pick- Women's Final 2026 (Saturday 11th July)

It is never easy seeing a great Champion lose that half a step, but that looks to be the situation for Novak Djokovic and Father Time looks to have caught up with him.

This leaves Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner as the last two Men standing at Wimbledon in 2026, but on Saturday the focus is on the Ladies title which will be won by a Czech player yet again.

Both players should be full of confidence ahead of the Final and the anticipation is that we are going to have another close battle between two players who have already won a title on the grass this season.

Karolina Muchova-Linda Noskova over 22.5 games: Wimbledon has always had some brilliant Czech Champions and they are going to be crowning another in the Ladies tournament on Saturday.

We are guaranteed to have a third different Czech Ladies Champion in four years after Marketa Vondrousova and Barbora Krejcikova won in 2023 and 2024, while the likes of Jana Novotna and Petra Kvitova are other former Champions without mentioning Martina Navratilova (who was born in Czechoslovakia before switching nationality to the United States).

Both Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova are top ten Seeds in the tournament and they have managed to avoid the pitfalls that saw the draw open up as the top players went tumbling out of the event. The numbers produced by the two players will give them plenty of belief that they can become the latest Grand Slam Champion on the Tour, while Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova both won warm up tournaments on the grass to underline their ability to play on the surface.

One previous match between these two friends was played at the US Open last year when Karolina Muchova won in three sets and this match is going to feel like it is being played in line with a hard court considering the heat that has been in London over the last fortnight. Some of the grip on the grass is still different, but first strike tennis is going to be important and both Muchova and Noskova will know that.

They visited Centre Court together in the hours before each won Semi Final matches and you have to feel that the fact they are close off the court should help the pair settle on the court.

It is a Grand Slam Final though and so nerves have to be expected.

Karolina Muchova fans will have some concern about the way she was holding her stomach at the end of her Semi Final win over Coco Gauff, although it did feel like nerves were getting on top of her rather than an injury that will affect her in the Final. However, it is something to consider, especially as Muchova will not want to be hindered when it comes to the serve.

She will have to serve well to just stay with Linda Noskova, who has been serving really well throughout the tournament and who overpowered Marta Kostyuk in her own Semi Final.

The superior variation is going to come from Karolina Muchova, but Linda Noskova is capable of ripping big shots and that is going to be her approach to try and get on top of rallies as soon as she can.

The Covid pandemic meant Wimbledon was not played in 2020 and three of the last five Ladies Finals since then have all gone the distance- it would be a stunning turn of events if it ends 6-0, 6-0 as this Final did twelve months ago and instead this looks like a Final that will have some real swings in momentum.

Each player winning a set would not be a surprise, but a closely fought two set match may still see this total games mark overcome, as it was when Karolina Muchova beat Naomi Osaka in straight sets in the Quarter Final.

Picking a winner is tough, but perhaps the experience of Karolina Muchova will eventually tell, although Linda Noskova has played well throughout this grass court season and the 21 year old is unlikely to go away very quickly.

Miami Tennis Day 13 Pick 2026- Men's Final (Sunday 29th March)

It could be a final day in Miami which features a number of rain delays, but there is a hope that there will be enough of a window to conclude the Masters.

After Aryna Sabalenka completed the Sunshine Double, Jannik Sinner will be looking to do the same when the ATP Final is played to complete the first half of the hard court season.

His opponent has been in strong form over the last few days, but Sinner is the favourite and the expectation is that he will pick up the title when all is said and done,

And then it will be time for the clay court season.

Jannik Sinner - 4.5 games v Jiri Lehecka: The Miami Final has one familiar name lining up to take the title home, but credit has to be given to Jiri Lehecka for working his way through the draw.

He has been far from fortunate.

The World Number 22 going into the tournament, Jiri Lehecka will be setting a new career best mark on Monday regardless of the result. His live World Ranking is up to Number 14, which surpasses his previous best of Number 16, and an upset on Sunday would see the Czech player move into the top twelve.

He has had a solid fifteen months on the hard courts, but Jiri Lehecka's run in Miami has been special having yet to have his serve broken and facing just nine Break Points in the five wins produced in the tournament. The return game has always been effective enough for the hard courts and Lehecka will have the confidence of having dropped a single set in this Masters event.

There has been one top ten win produced in this run, but Jiri Leheckha has not beaten anyone higher than World Number 31 in the other four wins.

Suffice to say he is about to have a big step up in competition as he bids to stop Jannik Sinner from completing the Sunshine Double.

Another win over Alexander Zverev keeps the hold over one of the top players in the world, but Sinner was not at his very best on Friday evening.

It says plenty about this player that he still won and Jannik Sinner is playing like the best hard court player in the world, which has been the feeling around him for a couple of years. Carlos Alcaraz will have plenty to say about that statement having won the last two Grand Slams on the surface, but Sinner's numbers are really impressive and winning Miami after Indian Wells will give the Italian a huge amount of confidence to take into the clay court campaign.

In this tournament, Jannik Sinner has only faced six Break Points and been broken once, and he has been the slightly more effective return player.

He would have been a big favourite in the Final regardless, but those numbers make it very difficult to see how Jiri Leheckha gets the better of the World Number 2.

Four previous meetings on the Tour have all ended in Jannik Sinner's favour and two of those have been on the hard courts- there has been a huge gap in the service numbers in those two hard court meetings and Jannik Sinner should be able to get the better of Jiri Leheckha again.

The expectation is that he will have a couple more Breaks of serve compared with the lower Ranked player and that may be enough to cover this mark.

MY PICK: Jannik Sinner - 4.5 Games @

Wimbledon Tennis Day 13 Pick 2025- Women's Final (Saturday 12th July)

At the time of writing, the Men's Semi Final matches have yet to be completed, but the Ladies Final is know and will take centre stage on Saturday, albeit at a later start time than usual.

That may help as the main heat of the day is avoided and it should be a decent Final between two players who may not have felt they were going to be involved on the final Saturday when the tournament began.

Iga Swiatek - 3.5 games v Amanda Anisimova: Anyone who picked this as the Ladies Final at the start of the Wimbledon tournament would deserve a lot of praise, but to most, it is a surprising match up to determine the Champion of the third Grand Slam of the season.

Out of the two players, there is no doubt that former World Number 1 Iga Swiatek has the experience having won multiple French Open titles and also the US Open. She would become the only active player on the Tour that has won Grand Slams on all three surfaces if she can pick up the title on Saturday, although the run has surprised considering how little success Iga Swiatek has previously enjoyed at Wimbledon.

Prior to this season, Iga Swiatek had only reached the Quarter Final once as her best effort, but she has looked completely at ease on the surface having played well at Bad Homburg in the last warm up event on the grass.

The only 'negative' to her run through to the Final is that Iga Swiatek has only beaten one player Ranked inside the top 20 and you do have to wonder if that is going to be a potential problem. Yes, she has not really been pushed by opponents and the quality behind the serve has been really impressive, but it could also mean Swiatek is not as well prepared to play the Final as she would have been by beating stronger players.

Being prepared to face some of the best feels more comfortable for Amanda Anisimova having already seen off the World Number 1 in the Semi Final.

Strong performances on the grass ahead of Wimbledon will have given the American a lot of confidence, and that has shone through at tough moments with the win over Sabalenka meaning Amanda Anisimova has needed three sets in half of the six victories put on the board. However, that also means she will not be too concerned if this match gets tight having shown her character throughout the last fortnight.

It should be noted that Amanda Anisimova had enjoyed a pretty comfortable draw before the win over Aryna Sabalenka, but had made harder work of her run compared with her opponent in this Final.

There is a lot to like about the Anisimova game- she has a decent serve and aggressive groundstrokes which makes her dangerous on the return. The margins have felt tighter in her wins though and it is going to be tougher for Amanda Anisimova if she is not able to get plenty of first serves in play and try and shift the pressure onto Iga Swiatek.

The latter has been serving really well and looks to be about as comfortable as she has ever looked on the grass.

With the superior experience of Grand Slam Finals, Iga Swiatek may not make the mistakes that Aryna Sabalenka felt she did in the Semi Final and that could see her get the better of the lower Ranked player.

MY PICK: Iga Swiatek - 3.5 Games @ 1.83 Bet365 (2 Units)

French Open Tennis Day 13 Picks 2025 (Friday 6th June)

Day 13 at the French Open is reserved for the men's Semi Final matches and we do have two solid match ups as we draw to the end of the second Grand Slam tournament of the season.

The second will certainly garner more of the sporting headlines as Novak Djokovic takes on current World Number 1 Jannik Sinner so soon after the latter returned from a three month ban for failing a drugs test last year. There are going to be a lot of interested spectators in that match, while Carlos Alcaraz and Lorenzo Musetti could be in line to meet in multiple more Grand Slam matches in the future, especially here at Roland Garros.

Jannik Sinner - 5.5 games v Novak Djokovic: While the rest of his long-term rivals have moved into retirement, 38 year old Novak Djokovic continues to push back against Father Time and he has reached another Semi Final at the French Open.

He dropped the first set of his Quarter Final against Alexander Zverev and looked to be under some pressure, but Novak Djokovic's aura still exists when it comes to facing those who have been on the Tour for a long time. You could see the belief ebbing out of Alexander Zverev at an alarming rate mid-way through the third set and he never really recovered until it was far too late.

A passive approach has been criticised with many believing that underlined the lack of belief that Alexander Zverev really had in his ability to earn the upset.

This is almost certainly not going to be the approach that the World Number 1 takes as Jannik Sinner looks to add another Grand Slam to his collection.

His three month suspension was followed by an immediate run to the Rome Masters Final, which showed Jannik Sinner has not missed much of a beat. Since arriving in Paris, Jannik Sinner has made it his business to not only win matches, but to win in such dominant style to really lay down a marker to his main rivals and you have to say he has achieved that and more.

The numbers have been stunning- Jannik Sinner has been serving at a high elite level, but he has been backing that up with aggressive returning and his recent opponents have not been able to live with him.

In saying all of that, Jannik Sinner will know that Novak Djokovic represents a significant upgrade in level of opponent and the former World Number 1 is on a decent winning run having won the title in Geneva just prior to the French Open beginning. There have been a couple of moments when Djokovic has been pushed, but the Olympic Gold Medal winner has looked very comfortable back here at Roland Garros and he will have taken plenty of positives out of the Quarter Final win.

At the same time, Novak Djokovic will have to be at close to full strength to match the intensity and power that Jannik Sinner is going to be bringing onto the court. Unlike Alexander Zverev, Jannik Sinner is not going to lose faith in the heavy groundstrokes that have taken him to the top of the men's game and further confidence can be taken from the fact he has beaten Novak Djokovic in each of the last three matches between them.

That includes crushing Djokovic on his favoured court at the Australian Open in 2024, while the improved Jannik Sinner serve has not even faced a Break Point in the last two matches against the best return player of all time.

Novak Djokovic will have plenty of motivation from the odds favouring his opponent, but Jannik Sinner is not Alexander Zverev.

He is not someone who is likely going to capitulate mentally if a couple of games have not gone his way and Jannik Sinner has shown he can overwhelm opponents with the tennis he can produce. As long as he serves near to where he has been throughout this tournament, the Italian will likely keep Novak Djokovic under the pump and that may eventually lead to a more comfortable victory than most would expect.

MY PICKS: Carlos Alcaraz - 6.5 Games
Jannik Sinner - 5.5 Games

US Open Tennis Day 13 Pick 2024- Women's Final (Saturday 7th September)

The tournament had been in a very strong position after the Quarter Final matches had been played, but the Semi Final results have been a blow to the overall numbers.

Two more matches are to be played, beginning with the women's Final on Saturday, and a strong end to the US Open would be welcomed.

Aryna Sabalenka - 4.5 games v Jessica Pegula: Both of these players will feel they have overcome some tough challenges and mental obstacles in their run to the US Open Final.

Nerves are going to play a part for both Jessica Pegula and Aryna Sabalenka as they bid to win a maiden US Open title and in the case of Pegula, a maiden Grand Slam title full stop. There have been some criticisms faced by both players after coming up short in the business end of events time and again and that is going to be a test for either player if the winning line draws over the horizon.

We saw some of those nerves from Aryna Sabalenka in her Semi Final win over Emma Navarro having led 6/3, 4/2, but ultimately being dragged into a second set tie-breaker. You would have worried for Sabalenka if she had dropped that set and there is a feeling that the World Number 2 doesn't have the same kind of mental fortitude as other top players of the past, especially when someone is able to stay with her through her hot periods.

That will be the test for the home player who came through in three sets against Karolina Muchova having lost the first set 6/1.

Jessica Pegula was able to fight back in style, but it was a very close match that could have easily gone the other way and the feeling is that she will be the one that needs to raise her tennis levels more than the Belarusian standing across the other side of the net.

It was Aryna Sabalenka who was the stronger of the two players in the Cincinnati Final last month, which was won in straight sets, and that means Sabalenka has won five of the last six between the players. Things have been a bit more even on the hard courts with that victory in the Final meaning Sabalenka and Pegula have both beaten the other twice on this surface, and that should at least give the American some real hope.

Dealing with the nerves of the occasion will be the test for both- we have seen those pressures hindering Sabalenka and Pegula at different times throughout their careers and the New York City crowd can make it tough. You have to feel Aryna Sabalenka has the edge if she can serve near her best and that will put pressure on Pegula to keep up on the scoreboard, which can lead to cracks.

We have seen Jessica Pegula serving well enough to keep her opponent off balance, but the edge has to be with the World Number 2 and she can cover this line as long as the nerves do not get to her as the chance to add to her two Australian Open titles nears.

MY PICK: Aryna Sabalenka - 4.5 Games @ 2.05 William Hill (2 Units)

Wimbledon Tennis Day 13 Pick- Ladies Final (Saturday 13th July)

We have gotten the Men's Final that most would have hoped for when the Wimbledon tournament began, but the unexpected Ladies Final is first up this weekend.

Once again it has been a wide open event and two players with Grand Slam Final experience will be meeting, even if picking both Finalists would have been a challenge beyond the vast majority of fans.

Going back to my Day 1 Picks, the players in the outright market that were highlighted outside of the obvious favourites included Lorenzo Musetti at 100-1 and Jasmine Paolini at 66-1.

While the Italian men's challenger came up short, those who did back the latter will be in a very strong position come Saturday.

Barbora Krejcikova - 1.5 games v Jasmine Paolini: The last time these two players met on the Tour, Barbora Krejcikova was the World Number 128 and Jasmine Paolini was the World Number 156. That match was in the First Qualifying Round at the 2018 Australian Open, but suffice to say this is a much bigger stage for the two players to be competing on in 2024.

When they play one another on Saturday in the Wimbledon Final, both players are guaranteed to be in the top 14 of the World Rankings when the new numbers are released on Monday. It is Jasmine Paolini, the new World Number 5, who is the higher Ranked, but Barbora Krejcikova has been given the edge in the Final by those putting the odds together.

You cannot argue with that as the two surprising former French Open Finalists meet- Barbora Krejcikova was able to win the title when reaching the Final, while Jasmine Paolini came up a little short against Iga Swiatek last month, but being a former Grand Slam Champion is certainly going to be a potential factor in favour of Krejcikova.

Winning the title would actually push Barbora Krejcikova back into the top 10 and she will certainly feel she has been playing strong tennis this week.

The tournament did start slowly and there were nerves early in the Semi Final, but the way the Czech player was able to turn things around against Elena Rybakina will serve her well. The match up in this one is very different with Jasmine Paolini not having the kind of power that the former Wimbledon Champion possesses, and certainly a stronger defender, but beating a former Champion will certainly make Barbora Krejcikova play with some confidence.

Both players are happy to play in the Ladies Doubles at Grand Slam level and so there is a feeling that this is going to be a fun match to watch.

A key for Barbora Krejcikova is to serve well and try and keep Jasmine Paolini under pressure, although the Italian has continued to play with the confidence and character to never be out of a match.

She has turned around some tough moments throughout this Wimbledon run and has become the first women's player to reach both the French Open and Wimbledon Final in the same season since Serena Williams eight years ago. Any time you are in a conversation with Williams, you know you are doing something right and Jasmine Paolini has shown her fortitude in her wins over Madison Keys and Donna Vekic when things looked to have moved beyond her.

In saying that, Paolini has perhaps benefited from both of those players picking up injuries during the match which changed the momentum of the contest. That was certainly the case against Madison Keys who led 5-2 in the deciding set and had two opportunities to serve out the match.

Jasmine Paolini is a fighter though and her movement around the court will extract errors- the serve can be a vulnerability and it is a Final that could really come down to the Barbora Krejcikova racquet and how much control she has on her unforced error count.

Keeping those as contained as possible is key and it does feel like the edge is with the former French Open Champion over the 2024 Finalist.

There are likely to be a number of breaks of serve and this might be the third Wimbledon Ladies Final in four years that needs a deciding set. The narrow edge has to be with Barbora Krejcikova who may be able to get through a couple of service games with a bit more ease and that may just build enough pressure on Jasmine Paolini to see the Italian come up slightly short in a second Grand Slam Final in a row.

MY PICKS: Barbora Krejcikova - 1.5 Games @ 1.87 Bet Victor (2 Units)

Wimbledon Tennis Day 13 Pick 2023- Ladies Final (July 15th)

It is the Final that everyone would have hoped we would see at Wimbledon and on Friday both Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic were able to win in straight sets to earn their place on Centre Court on Sunday.

The World Number 1 will also be on the line when Alcaraz and Djokovic face off, but the biggest prize is going to be the Wimbledon title as the young Spaniard tries to knock off a dominant SW19 Champion.

Before that we have the Ladies Final on Saturday and the horrible conditions in London could potentially make things very difficult.

However, I am assuming the rain in the area will mean the Final is played under the roof on Centre Court and that will only be good news for Marketa Vondrousova and Ons Jabeur. Neither player will want to be playing through the extremely gusty winds that have been forecasted through the day, which would just add to the pressures that they will be feeling as both look to win a maiden Grand Slam title.

Marketa Vondrousova-Ons Jabeur over 5.5 match breaks: Making three Grand Slam Finals in the last five events played will have placed Ons Jabeur amongst the best players on the WTA Tour. For herself, losing the first two of those Slam Finals will have stung and Jabeur may not really believe she belongs alongside the very best players on the Tour if she is not able to become a Grand Slam Champion.

She would have entered the Wimbledon Final as a narrow favourite twelve months ago, but was the underdog at the US Open a couple of months later when going down to Iga Swiatek. This time Ons Jabeur is going to be a significant favourite in the Final on Saturday as she prepares to take on Marketa Vondrousova.

Like her opponent, Marketa Vondrousova is a former Grand Slam Finalist and ended up being well beaten by Ashleigh Barty at the 2021 French Open. This is only the third time since that Final that Vondrousova has made it through to the second week at a Slam, but the Czech player has been in strong form in the tournament and will have to use that previous experience to help her in this first Wimbledon Final.

Marketa Vondrousova has struggled in Finals in her relatively young career having lost four of the five she has played, including losing the Olympic Games Gold Medal match. It has now been six years since an 18 year old Vondrousova won her only Singles title, but being the underdog could help her in this match up.

The lefty can also look back at this calendar year and note that she holds two wins over Ons Jabeur- one of those was at Indian Wells, but perhaps more importantly is the fact that Marketa Vondrousova was able to beat Jabeur at the Australian Open so has shown she can win under Grand Slam pressure.

Both of those wins were in strong performances from Marketa Vondrousova, but the grass is definitely the domain of Ons Jabeur, who has beaten this opponent on this surface in 2021.

After wins over Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka, Ons Jabeur has to make sure she does not feel like she has one hand on the title and focus on the match. It is going to be much different compared with her last three matches against some of the big hitting players on the WTA Tour and a crafty, clever player like Bianca Andreescu almost beat Jabeur earlier in the tournament.

She is facing another one of those in Vondrousova who can use slices and is willing to get to the net, while also possessing some decent pop off the ground. The tactics will have to be different from Ons Jabeur and it is unlikely that she will benefit from as many unforced errors from Marketa Vondrousova as the likes of Petra Kvitova and Sabalenka were donating.

The mental side of the match is harder to call and you have to believe there will be nerves on both sides of the net, while I think both Vondrousova and Jabeur are happier returning than serving. With the nerves, this does feel like a match that will see plenty of breaks of serve and certainly more than anticipated by the layers.

In the two matches played between these players this year, there have been a total of twenty-one breaks of serve in the forty-eight service games played. Both of those have been on the hard courts and the feeling is that the grass should play a bit faster to aid the servers, but there have been at least nine breaks of serve in each of the last three matches played by Marketa Vondrousova at Wimbledon.

The Semi Final involving Ons Jabeur only had four breaks of serve, but the previous two matches saw seven breaks of serve each time and the returning numbers of Marketa Vondrousova have been every effective.

The underdog should be able to make this a competitive Final, even through the nerves, and the last two Wimbledon Finals have seen at least three sets needed. Despite the extra experience, Ons Jabeur is under plenty of pressure too considering the expectation that will be on her shoulders and the Tunisian making no secret of wanting to win major titles.

Another long match for Ons Jabeur may not be a big surprise either and there may be a few swings in momentum within the Final as long as Marketa Vondrousova can stay on top of the obvious nerves she will be dealing with on the day.

MY PICK: Marketa Vondrousova-Ons Jabeur Over 5.5 Match Breaks @ 1.66 Bet365 (2 Units)

Wimbledon Update: 57-55, - 9.94 Units (224 Units Staked, - 4.44% Yield)

Australian Open Tennis Day 13 Pick- Women's Final 2023 (January 28th)

The Fourth Round and Quarter Final Tennis Picks were pretty disappointing as far as I am concerned, although the key was that I did not have one of those truly bad days to knock off the early positive numbers produced.

That has been really important and ensured the perfect 4-0 run in the Semi Final selections has meant a solid winning effort at the Australian Open.

Even with that in mind, I am looking to keep the momentum going with my Tennis Pick from the women's Final on Saturday, one that features the two best players in the tournament by some distance. Picking a winner looks a tough challenge with so many external factors that could impact the two, namely nerves and tension at key moments, but I think it could be a good Final for the fans to enjoy and I am not anticipating a straight-forward win for either.

My Pick from the men's Final should be posted in the hour after the women's Final is concluded.

Elena Rybakina-Aryna Sabalenka over 22.5 games: The two best players at the Australian Open, in the women's draw, are meeting in the Final on Saturday and I do think this could be a really fun watch.

Some people have suggested that tennis matches tend to be 'too long', but I am not sure how many rallies are going to be played by Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka. Both are aggressive, first strike players who have massive serves that can set up the points right from the off, while they will also be well aware that the other is likely going to take some big swings with every second serve that will be seen.

Tension in the arm and the magnitude of the situation can lead to a lot of mistakes from players who want to swing freely. There will also be a lot of pressure to up the first serve percentage with Elena Rybakina getting 55% of first serves in play compared with 58% for Aryna Sabalenka, a number that may not seem like much between them, but one that may give the higher Ranked player a slight edge.

Of course Elena Rybakina has a real mental edge of having won a Grand Slam title before, even if she feels she is not a Champion after the Wimbledon Ranking points were scrubbed last year. That would have meant going into the next two Grand Slams as a top ten player and perhaps a higher profile than being bunted out into one of the outside courts to open her tournament in Melbourne.

The Kazakhstan player is not one to let something like that bother her and the way she has cut a pathway through the draw underlines the point.

However, the raw numbers at this tournament suggest the layers have got the right favourite for this Final in Aryna Sabalenka. Getting more first serves in play is obviously huge, but Sabalenka has also has slight edges in terms of points won behind the second serve and on the return, even if the Elena Rybakina first serve feels the best shot on the court.

Aryna Sabalenka has also won all three previous matches against Elena Rybakina- all three have needed a deciding set with one or two errors capitalised on by the opponent.

I very much feel that could be the case again in the women's Final at the Australian Open.

Both players should feel they can contain the threat the opponent brings by producing big first serves, but I also think aggressive returns will see some swings in momentum. You can't really account for how players will deal with nerves of the occasion, but I do think the chance of being able to settle down with big serving will help and I think they are very closely matched, which could produce a tight and competitive Final.

There is a chance that just two sets will be needed to clear the total games mark set for the Final- I am noted that the money has come in for Elena Rybakina to narrow the odds, but picking a winner is difficult with my narrow edge going with Aryna Sabalenka, my pre-tournament selection to win the opening Grand Slam of 2023.

However, going over the total games line looks the play here considering how close their previous matches have been and I do think a decider might be needed.

Of course you cannot discount the chances of nerves overwhelming one of the players on the day- that is more likely to be on Aryna Sabalenka's side of the court now that Elena Rybakina has won a Grand Slam title before. Those nerves can quickly see a match run away from a player, but I think the serving capabilities of both and the performance level at the Australian Open should mean a close, competitive match is produced.

MY PICK: Elena Rybakina-Aryna Sabalenka Over 22.5 Games @ 1.80 Bet365 (2 Units)

Wimbledon Tennis Day 13 Pick 2022- Ladies Singles Final (July 9th)

A slow start from Novak Djokovic did not prevent him from earning his spot in the Wimbledon Final on Sunday and the match up with Nick Kyrgios is one that is going to draw plenty of attention.

However, the Ladies Final deserves the spotlight on Saturday as two maiden Grand Slam Finalists meet for the biggest title of their career to date. The winner may feel there is a potential to spark the career and win a number of Slams and I am looking forward to both matches remaining at the 2022 tournament.

Ons Jabeur-Elena Rybakina over 22.5 games: This is the first time a player representing Arabs and North Africans will be playing in a Grand Slam Final and Ons Jabeur has fulfilled some of the expectations that were on her shoulders at the start of the Wimbledon tournament. She is the favourite to win the title on Saturday, but Ons Jabeur should have plenty of respect for the quality that Elena Rybakina brings to the court as she becomes the first player from Kazakhstan to compete for a Grand Slam title.

Both are going to have to deal with some of the nerves that comes with playing a maiden Grand Slam Final- Ons Jabeur has been the more consistent player on the Tour, but Elena Rybakina has long had the kind of tennis that felt it could bring home a major title if she could just find a hot streak of form at the right time.

It is a very big game and Elena Rybakina was able to thump Simona Halep in the Semi Final to further build her confidence. She had been a pretty big underdog in that match against a player who had won the Wimbledon title in 2019 and not been beaten on the grass courts in SW19 for four years, but Elena Rybakina played a perfect game with big thumping winners to dominate her opponent.

The problem for Elena Rybakina is that she is not likely to have an easy rhythm in this match like Simona Halep provided and dealing with different spins, drop shots and a player comfortable volleying at the net is a big challenge for the underdog. The first serve is a major weapon for Elena Rybakina though and she will feel she can play first strike tennis as long as she is able to land plenty of those, even noting how well Ons Jabeur has been returning throughout this tournament.

A bigger challenge for the Tunisian is that she had not served as well as she would have liked in her Fourth Round and Quarter Final wins. Earlier in the tournament that may not have been a concern, but Ons Jabeur has to be aware that Elena Rybakina has found her groove on the return with 46% of points won on the return in her last two wins.

Those have led to plenty of breaks of serve for Elena Rybakina, but both have been serving well enough to believe they can get their noses in front. The two completed matches between the two players have both needed three sets to separate them and I do think there is enough quality tennis being played by both Jabeur and Rybakina in this tournament to think we may need a decider in this one too.

Before last season, seven straight Ladies Finals at Wimbledon had been won in straight sets, but I do think nerves could make it difficult for either to close out in straights here.

These two have played four matches combined in the Quarter Final and Semi Final Round and three of those have also needed a deciding set and I do think we are going to see this total games line covered. It should be a fun match and I do think we are getting a deserved Champion, albeit the latest new name on the WTA Tour to add a Grand Slam title to their resume.

Australian Open Tennis Day 13 Pick 2022- Women's Final (January 29th)

The four Semi Final matches at the Australian Open have gone exactly the way the Picks were hoping and it has rallied after a slump in the selections in the middle of the tournament.

Just two matches remain at the first Grand Slam of the season and then I will be having a short break from the Tennis Picks too before looking to return when the first ATP 500 event of the season is scheduled to be played in Rotterdam. There are big events in the Middle East in February before the Tour moves onto the first Masters events on the hard courts of the United States, but before all that I am looking to round off this event with a couple more winners.

First up is the Women's Final and it is hard to look beyond the home hope.

Ashleigh Barty - 4.5 games v Danielle Collins: Neither one of these players have let me down at the Australian Open when I have backed them and I think it is a fitting Final between Ashleigh Barty and Danielle Collins who have been the two best players in the draw.

Once again the Women's game has underlined the feeling that it is a wide open draw at any Grand Slam being played with Danielle Collins the latest to reach a Final from left field. The number of new Winners and faces that not many would have tipped up to win a Grand Slam has been eye-opening to the void at the top of the Women's game and Danielle Collins will certainly believe she is capable of being the latest to join the likes of Bianca Andreescu, Sofia Kenin, Iga Swiatek, Barbora Krejcikova and Emma Raducanu as unfamiliar names to the casual viewer who have won Grand Slam titles.

Only two names have won multiple Slam titles in that time- Naomi Osaka had been dominant on the hard courts, but the other is Ashleigh Barty and the World Number 1 can underline her place at the top of the Women's game. A third Grand Slam on a third different surface would be a huge achievement and perhaps the void at the top is finally going to be filled by someone who may go into the next three Grand Slams as the favourite to win it all.

Ashleigh Barty is under pressure here as Australia looks for a first home Champion in Melbourne since 1978, but she has looked remarkably composed and showed little fear in demolishing Madison Keys in the Semi Final. You have to say that Ashleigh Barty has not really been tested at all in the tournament as she has backed up her pre-Australian Open form and I don't think she is going to be beaten now, unless suddenly realising what she is about to achieve.

Having won the French Open in 2019 and Wimbledon in 2021, I think Ashleigh Barty looks to have the right mentality to cope with the pressure. She is simply proving too strong for all she has faced and the straight sets win over Keys means Ashleigh Barty has won twenty sets in a row and players are barely winning games against her.

Danielle Collins is serving well at the tournament and I think that will stand her in good stead, but the pressure that is being built up by Ashleigh Barty may be too much to deal with. I have a lot of respect for the way the American has handled herself through adversity in this tournament and her last two wins have been very impressive as she has dismantled the games of Alize Cornet and Iga Swiatek.

The hard courts are well suited to Danielle Collins' game and she did beat Ashleigh Barty in Adelaide last year, a match that will be on her mind when coming into this one. She knows she can beat Barty, but I think the level of the Australian has gone up considerably since their last match in February 2021, and I would be surprised if Ashleigh Barty is not able to find a way to control the direction of this match once getting through a tight opening set.

As good as Danielle Collins has played at Melbourne Park, the numbers being produced by Ashleigh Barty are at an incredible level and she looks a player ready to make a bit of history. It would take a serious drop off of her intensity to see her fail to win the Australian Open now and I think it could be a seriously tough day in the office for Danielle Collins if she is not getting around 70% or better of her first serves in play.

Even then, Ashleigh Barty has been the considerably better return player on the numbers and I think she is going to find a way through a tight set before turning the screw and pulling away for a win and a cover.

US Open Tennis Day 13 Picks 2021- Women's Final (September 11th)

The Women's US Open Final is one that no one could have possibly predicted two weeks ago even if they had been given multiple different chances to do so.

Even picking one of these players to reach the Final would have been surprising to read, but two teenagers are ready to make their mark on the tennis world and both are going to have some real expectations to deal with regardless of the result. I hope it is a good Final and I can only wish the best to both having had such a special two weeks already.

Emma Raducanu - 2.5 games v Leylah Fernandez: It has to be good news for the WTA Tour to have two teenagers break through and reach the Final of the last Grand Slam of the 2021 season. Tennis is always on the look out for the next big stars and both Leylah Fernandez and Emma Raducanu have been seen as stars of the future.

No one would have thought the future was going to begin in September 2021 though.

The top of the WTA has been a mix of players and there hasn't really been a stand out, dominant player. The likes of Ashleigh Barty and Naomi Osaka will feel they are that player, but all of the Grand Slams have been really open tournaments and it has led to a number of surprising winners.

Barbora Krejcikova is a case in point having been Ranked outside the top 100 last year, but winning the French Open title back in June.

How this US Open will be looked back upon will depend on how Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez are able to back it up- they have time on their side, but both are Ranked outside the top 70 of the World Rankings going into the tournament and there is no doubt that this will be one of the more surprising Grand Slam Champions, regardless of who will win.

I have to favour Emma Raducanu, but both players are going to be dealing with a huge amount of pressure and that can play havoc on a performance. However, it is the British Qualifier who has been playing at an extremely high level throughout the tournament and Emma Raducanu looks to be confident and remains strong despite having those three Qualifiers under her belt too.

You can't take away anything from either player when it comes to the names they have beaten to reach the US Open Final, but Leylah Fernandez has been asked to invest a lot more physicality and emotions into her wins. The young Canadian has come from behind a couple of times already in this tournament and Fernandez has needed three sets in each of her last four wins, which means spending a lot more time on the court compared with Emma Raducanu who has yet to drop a set.

In the last three Rounds, Leylah Fernandez has seen her service numbers slip and that may be the difference between the players in this Final with Emma Raducanu getting plenty out of the conditions in New York City. It is also the British player who has been returning at an exceptional level and I do think that will make the difference in her favour as long as she can handle the occasion.

I have no reason to doubt Emma Raducanu considering how well she has handled herself in this whole tournament and I do think she has shown she is playing the superior tennis behind serve and return compared with Leylah Fernandez. The latter has shown plenty of fight and composure when playing the big points against some big name players, but Emma Raducanu looks to be the real deal and a first Grand Slam looks to be on the cards for her.

Wimbledon Tennis Day 13 Picks 2021- Gentlemen's Final (July 11th)

The Ladies Final has largely disappointed over the last several years at Wimbledon, but that was not the case on Saturday as Ashleigh Barty came through in three sets against Karolina Pliskova.

Nerves hurt Pliskova and I do wonder if they will play a part for Matteo Berrettini as he gets set to play his first ever Grand Slam Final. He is facing an experienced opponent in Novak Djokovic who is clearly the best player in the world, but the Men's Final has proven to be very entertaining in recent times and the hope is that there will be another one on Sunday.

Personally I am not quite so sure as you will be able to read below.

Novak Djokovic - 5.5 games v Matteo Berrettini: The 2021 Wimbledon Men's Final will be competed by one player with a vast amount of experience and one looking to win his maiden Grand Slam title.

Novak Djokovic is unsurprisingly the favourite having won his last twenty matches at Wimbledon, but Matteo Berrettini will arrive in the Final with a heap of confidence behind him having won the Queens title before Wimbledon began. He has been largely untroubled in the tournament so far too, but Novak Djokovic can say the same and he has won the last two Grand Slam tournaments that have been played and is looking to match his great rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at twenty Majors won.

That will place some pressure on Djokovic's shoulders, but he is vastly experienced and showed in his Semi Final win that he is able to play the big points really well against the upstarts of the Tour who are looking to take their place amongst the elite. The win over Denis Shapovalov should really work out well for Novak Djokovic as he will have felt some of the pace that is going to be coming out of the Matteo Berrettini racquet, while his previous head to head wins over the Italian will only add to the confidence the World Number 1 is usually going to feel.

The serve is going to be a key weapon for both players, but you really have to believe that Matteo Berrettini will need the first serve to be working from the off to have a chance. It has been a potent weapon for him throughout the tournament, but Matteo Berrettini may be the first to admit that he has not played a return player of the quality of Novak Djokovic and he was challenged by Felix Auger-Aliassime in the Quarter Final before finally edging past the young Canadian.

Novak Djokovic has been serving incredibly well in the tournament himself and it is an underrated part of his game on the faster surfaces. I expect it will be a serve that makes it tough for Matteo Berrettini to get into the return games as often as he did in other matches at Wimbledon, while the pressure coming from the Novak Djokovic return is likely going to wear on an inexperienced, younger player.

Matteo Berrettini has been incredibly difficult to break on the grass and that is not a massive surprise when you think of the huge first serve he possesses that can get him out of troubling moments. However, he has been broken in 33% of his service games played against Novak Djokovic and I do think that the return of serve is going to be the key to the outcome of the match with a significant edge being given to the World Number 1.

While Novak Djokovic has had some successes getting into the Matteo Berrettini service games, the Italian has broken just once in six sets competed against Djokovic.

This is a big spread for Novak Djokovic to cover if Matteo Berrettini is serving at the absolute top of his game, but I think anything less than that will see enough returns being made to wear down the younger player. Italy will be looking for a double in London on Sunday, but I think Novak Djokovic will have too much and force fans to hope for better later in the day.

Australian Open Tennis Day 13 Picks- Women's Final 2021 (February 20th)

The Women's Final takes centre stage as the Australian Open draws to a close over the next two days.

I will have a fuller thread for the Men's Final ahead of the Sunday completion of the tournament.

Naomi Osaka - 4.5 games v Jennifer Brady: She may be the younger player, but Naomi Osaka will be the one with the experience edge when the Women's Final is played at the Australian Open. This is not only the fourth Grand Slam Final that Naomi Osaka has played, but she has won the previous three (two at the US Open and once here in Melbourne), while her opponent Jennifer Brady is in her maiden Grand Slam Final and has only just played in her second Slam Semi Final.

Both of these players are big hitters and the serve is going to be a key weapon for both on the day, but it does feel like Naomi Osaka has peaked in time for the Final while we have seen the best tennis from Jennifer Brady earlier in the tournament. The American was a little fortunate to come through her Semi Final against Karolina Muchova who was unable to complete the fightback despite being the stronger player in the match and Jennifer Brady will know she needs to be a lot better if she is going to beat someone as good as Naomi Osaka.

In the last two matches Brady has had to spend three and a half hours on the court compared with Osaka rattling through her two matches in over an hour less time. That is a potential factor considering the majority of those matches would have played in hot conditions and only furthers the edge towards the Japanese former World Number 1 who is likely going to cement her place at the top of the WTA Tour with a victory, even if the World Rankings don't reflect her status.

It also has to be noted that this is considerably the toughest challenge that Jennifer Brady has had to face at the Australian Open and the first player Ranked inside the top 20 she would have played. None of her previous six matches have come against anyone Ranked higher than Number 27 and the struggles in the last Round is a particular concern.

Jennifer Brady was not able to get her teeth into the Karolina Muchova serve, but took the chances when they came up. Ultimately if she has struggled in her return game in that match, this one is going to be a real problem for her although I do think the evening conditions will just make things a touch easier for the underdog.

Those conditions should slow up the ball enough for Jennifer Brady to see the ball a little better on the return, but there is a counter downside to that and that is her biggest weapon, the serve, may not be as effective as she would like. In the last couple of matches here, opponents have been able to create break point chances against the Jennifer Brady serve and Naomi Osaka just took the game to Serena Williams and has continued to have plenty of returning success.

The American has just struggled with her first serve percentage over the last week and I think that will only add pressure on her. You know Naomi Osaka will look to attack the second serve and I do think she has a big enough advantage in this match to secure another Grand Slam title and likely with a relatively comfortable win produced.

Naomi Osaka has room for improvement in her first serve percentage, but she has looked after her second serve a lot better than Jennifer Brady.

These two players met at the US Open in the Semi Final and it was Naomi Osaka who came through a tight three setter. However, the higher Ranked player had a considerable advantage on the return of serve that day in what was a relatively tight match, and I think that is likely to be the case again in the Final on Saturday.

If Brady serves at her best she can keep this close, but she may be tiring and will have to be a lot better than she has been in the last two matches here. There is some real pressure on Naomi Osaka as a big favourite, but she is in the better form and looks to be playing with the kind of belief that may see her dominate this Final.

US Open Day 13 Tennis Picks- Women's Final 2020 (September 12th)

The lack of fans has perhaps been a blow to the atmosphere in some of the matches played at the US Open this year, but the tournament in general has been pretty decent.

A new Men's Grand Slam Champion will be crowned on Sunday so perhaps a new challenger can emerge to take on the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer over the next several months, while the Women's Final looks like a top one between a potential new dominant Champion and a former one rediscovering her best tennis.

Both Finals should be decent viewing up against some big competition with the NBA PlayOffs continuing and the majority of the Week 1 of the NFL games scheduled to be played in and around these US Open Finals.

Naomi Osaka - 2.5 games v Victoria Azarenka: A withdrawal ahead of the 'Cincinnati' Masters Final means we were not able to see Naomi Osaka versus Victoria Azarenka a couple of weeks ago, but the two players clearly in the best form have managed to work their way through to the Final of the US Open.

Both Naomi Osaka and Victoria Azarenka have deserved to work their way through the draws as they have and both have had to dig in to win Semi Final matches in three sets on Thursday. I don't think there are going to be any issues with fatigue as both have been able to work their way through the previous six matches in largely dominant fashion, although one very slight edge may work in favour of Victoria Azarenka.

While she has dropped just two sets in the tournament compared with the three sets dropped by Naomi Osaka, Victoria Azarenka has had to come from behind to win both of those matches. On the other hand Osaka has dropped her sets after winning the first set and that may mean Azarenka has a very slight edge in mentality if she loses the opening set on Saturday compared with Naomi Osaka.

It's a very slight edge because I do think Naomi Osaka is playing at a very high level and do lean towards the favourite. She has been serving massively throughout the tournament and we did see Serena Williams put Victoria Azarenka under pressure with the serve in the first set and for parts of the remainder of that Semi Final on Thursday.

Serena Williams just doesn't have the same kind of movement as Naomi Osaka at this stage of her career and I do think the Japanese star can back up those big serves with consistent and big groundstrokes. That is not taking anything away from Victoria Azarenka's return game, but I do think Osaka can out-hit her following the first strike that her big serves tend to give her.

The Azarenka serve is also nothing like the big Jennifer Brady serve that Osaka dealt with in the Semi Final she played and other than that she has been able to really get her teeth into the return games played previously. While I am not disputing that Azarenka is perhaps the stronger returner, I do think her serve is not going to prevent Naomi Osaka from cracking through some heavy returns which puts her on the front foot in rallies and that is where she can earn the edge.

It should be a really good Final and I would be disappointed if there were not some twists and turns in the encounter. Naomi Osaka clearly doesn't forget previous losses easily if judging by her comments following a first win over Shelby Rogers, and I do think she will remember the 1 and 1 defeat to Victoria Azarenka at the Australian Open in January 2016.

Since then Naomi Osaka has won two clay court matches against Victoria Azarenka on what is the weakest surface for both players, and it is Osaka who has created the majority of the break points in those wins. I think that is likely going to be the case in the US Open Final and that should lead to Naomi Osaka winning a third Grand Slam and her second one here at Flushing Meadows.

Australian Open Tennis Day 13 Picks 2020- Women's Final (February 1st)

We are down to the final four at the Australian Open and on Saturday we will get to crown the first Grand Slam Champion of the 2020 season as the Women's Final is played.

Both Sofia Kenin and Garbine Muguruza have had a day to prepare for the Final and they will both be full of belief ahead of a huge match for both players. A huge improvement in their World Ranking is a bonus, but being a Grand Slam Champion is a whole different level and can spark a career.

Sofia Kenin-Garbine Muguruza over 21.5 games: This may not have been the Women's Final that most would have expected to see at the Australian Open in 2020, but it is further proof that the sport on this side of the road is very, very competitive.

Since Serena Williams won her last Grand Slam in 2017 we have had nine different Grand Slam Winners from the next eleven Grand Slam tournaments played with only Simona Halep and Naomi Osaka managing two wins in that time. Garbine Muguruza won her second Grand Slam at Wimbledon in 2017 so she will be looking for another and has the experience edge in the match.

That has not been a huge problem for Sofia Kenin so far in this tournament and her win over home favourite Ashleigh Barty in the Semi Final shows she can handle the nerves. There have been some big things expected of Kenin, but the 21 year old has not had a big impact at Grand Slam level before this tournament and so you have to credit her for the way she has been handling things match by match.

The Kenin serve has continued to fire at an unexpected level and it has helped her largely control the flow of matches. In a quality serving match in the Semi Final, I was surprised to see Sofia Kenin hang in long enough to beat Ashleigh Barty, although it was a very tight match by the numbers.

Garbine Muguruza also came through a very tight match as she edged out Simona Halep in the battle of the two time Grand Slam Champions. In that match it was the return of the Spaniard that helped her through the match as she broke the Halep serve four times, while you have to credit the Muguruza serve for becoming the first that restricted Simona Halep to less than five breaks of serve in the tournament.

It really feels like the Australian Open Final is going to be one in which both Sofia Kenin and Garbine Muguruza are going to be able to showcase their serving talents. Neither is a great returner, but they build confidence from the way they are able to serve and I do think the winner is going to be the player that can just find a way to just make a few more big returns.

In the conditions it could be another tight, competitive match like we saw in the Semi Finals a couple of days ago. Both players will be confidence behind serve and three of the last four Women's Australian Open Finals have gone the distance wth this one feeling very possible to go the same way.

Sofia Kenin beat Garbine Muguruza in three sets when they met in Beijing at the back end of last season, although they were three one-sided sets. I am not sure the match is going to ebb and flow to that degree in this one, but I would not be surprised if we need at least one Tie-Breaker and that should give this pick a chance of being a winner even if there is a close, two set match played.

Picking a winner isn't easy- Garbine Muguruza has found a better level in the tournament, but Sofia Kenin is playing with a lot of confidence at the big moments. My feeling is that the experience of the Spaniard is going to prove to be decisive, but I would be most surprised if one of these players was able to run away with the match.

US Open Day 13 Picks 2019- Women's Final (September 7th)

Two more winners from the Men's Semi Final matches that were played on Friday means this is going to be a winning tournament, although it has not fully made up for the past four weeks just yet.

I have to be happy with the 2019 season which has backed up the 2018 one with plenty more winners in the book and a healthy return. Having two more winners from the Finals to be played this weekend would be the perfect way to round things off before I have a few days off from the Tennis Picks.

First up is the Women's Final on Saturday and you can see my selection as well as the updated US Open totals below.

Serena Wiliams - 4.5 games v Bianca Andreescu: The Final of the women's tournament is taking place on Saturday and it is a rematch of the shortened Toronto Final from last month. On that day youngster Bianca Andreescu took the title home ahead of Serena Williams who was forced to call it a day after just four games were played, but the veteran looks much healthier now and the accumulation of the tournament certainly gives her the edge.

Where Serena Williams has barely been pushed and dismissed the challenge of her last two opponents for the loss of just five games, Bianca Andreescu has had to dig deep with back to back matches that have gone over two hours.

There was a lot of emotion put into the win over Belinda Bencic as Andreescu came back from 2-5 down in the second set, one in which she trailed by a double break twice. Winning five games in a row will give the youngster plenty of confidence to take into the match, but there is also the possibility that all of this tennis is going to add up and affect the Canadian in what is the biggest match of her career.

Her numbers over the last twelve months suggests Andreescu is anything but an easy touch and the two big titles won in Indian Wells and Toronto shows this is a player for the big occasion. That has to be factored in here and Serena Williams has lost her last three Grand Slam Finals as she bids to get up to twenty-four so I do think she has to be dealing with some nerves too.

Ultimately I do think Serena Williams is going to be the fresher of the players even with a day of rest between matches and I think that is going to be a big issue for Bianca Andreescu to deal with. Over the course of the tournament Williams has played at a higher level and while I respect the battling nature of the young Canadian, I do think she is going to perhaps be a little fatigued after some tough matches and having to play for the third time in four days.

The return has been a key factor for Andreescu who managed to work the big points very well in her Semi Final win over Belinda Bencic, but Williams is serving fantastically at the moment and that should keep the Canadian under the cosh. Ultimately Andreescu is going to have to have a huge serving day to really compete in my opinion, especially with the fatigue aspect that has to be in play.

I can imagine Andreescu lays it all on the line early and gives Serena Williams some real problems with her movement and ability to blunt some of the power, but the longer the match goes the more fatigue could be the difference by the end.

It is a big number when you think of the levels Andreescu has produced, but I think this is the right time for Williams. Her levels over the last three Rounds have been very, very good and if she serves as she has been I think only nerves will hold her back.

I don't think that will be the case once the match goes on and I think it will be more evident that Bianca Andreescu doesn't have a lot left which should see Williams win and cover in the Final.
