World Series of Darts Finals Day 3 Picks 2026 (Saturday 19th September)

The format moves into a best of nineteen Leg Second Round at the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam and that means the eight matches to be played on Saturday are going to be split across two Sessions.

It is a busy day, but one that should produce plenty of high quality darts for fans to enjoy.

Josh Rock v Ryan Searle: This has been set as a pick 'em contest in the Second Round after the odds had opened up with Josh Rock as a narrow underdog.

That felt out of place after the opening performances of both players, while Ryan Searle has perhaps not kicked on from his run to the World Championship Semi Final as well as he would have hoped.

It has not been the ideal season for Josh Rock, but he looked in really sharp form in the win over Stephen Bunting and can outlast Heavy Metal.

Ross Smith - 2.5 legs v Daryl Gurney: Credit has to be given to Daryl Gurney for rallying and beating home favourite Michael van Gerwen in the First Round, but there is also little doubt that he was let off the hook when trailing 5-3 and having lost five consecutive Legs.

That is unlikely to be the case if he gives Ross Smith the same kind of momentum.

Daryl Gurney will have taken plenty of confidence from beating van Gerwen, but his recent form has been very disappointing and in sharp contrast to the kind of darts that Ross Smith has been throwing.

It will need a real off-day from Smudger for things to change in this Second Round match and the top player on the European Tour in 2026 can win another match on the continent to take his place in the Sunday Quarter Finals.

Dirk van Duijvenbode most 180s v Luke Humphries: The Afternoon Session will conclude with a big match between a home player and the World Number 2 and Dirk van Duijvenbode will not be intimidated by the challenge in front of him.

He has beaten Luke Humphries on the European Tour already this season and the crowd are going to push van Duijvenbode all the way in this Second Round match.

Of course it is no surprise that Humphries is the strong favourite, especially over the best of nineteen Leg format, which will allow him to fight back even if the Dutchman makes a very fast start.

Dirk van Duijvenbode could be lining up the upset if he can get his powerful scoring going and he has had more maximums than Luke Humphries in the last two meetings on the Tour. That is a big part of his game and van Duijvenbode may at least win in that column, even if he is not quite able to cross the line for the victory to take his place on Finals Day.

James Wade-Wessel Nijman over 9.5 180s: This is the penultimate Second Round match to be played in the Evening Session and looks a very good one on paper.

After a blistering start to the 2026 season, Wessel Nijman has come off the boil in recent weeks and that, coupled with the form James Wade has been putting together, means he will be entering this match as a narrow underdog.

However, Nijman is going to be given plenty of support and he looked to be in good form in his First Round win.

James Wade had to overcome a barrage of maximums in his win over Damon Heta, but continues to show how much he wants things on the oche by refusing to wilt under such pressure. His maximum hitting deserted him a little bit on Friday, but this longer format should give Wade and Wessel Nijman plenty of opportunities to pile up the big scores and they can surpass this total set.

Luke Littler to win & over 7.5 180s v Nathan Aspinall: While there have been times when Nathan Aspinall has been able to push Luke Littler, it is hard to say that he has ever looked confident in beating the World Number 1.

Something will have to change drastically for Nathan Aspinall to find that belief, but he is capable of avoiding a complete blowout and that should mean Luke Littler has time to bang in plenty more maximums.

He may be the younger player on the stage, but Luke Littler almost 'big brother's' Nathan Aspinall and the dominant head to head underlines the point.

Getting up to eight maximums in a best of nineteen Leg format is not going to be easy, but Nathan Aspinall can win at least five Legs here and that Littler's maximum hitting rate should mean he has the time to complete both parts of this selection to take his place in the Quarter Final.

European Tour 12- Czech Darts Open Day 3 Picks 2026 (Sunday 6th September)

The European Tour 12 event being played in Czechia will be concluded across two Sessions on Sunday with the Third Round all set to be completed during the day.

Big names have moved into the last day and the likes of Luke Littler and Luke Humphries will always be the players to beat.

However, the shorter formats of the European Tour means they can be vulnerable and that is what the other players will be hoping to exploit, at least before the Semi Final and Final. Even the best of thirteen and best of fifteen formats are short enough for an upset to occur, but it is all about peaking at the right time on a long day.

Luke Humphries to win & most 180s v Andrew Gilding: All credit has to be given to Andrew Gilding for the performance he put together to beat Nathan Aspinall, but another level may be needed if he is going to get through the Third Round.

Not only is he is facing one of the top players on the Tour, but Luke Humphries put in a strong performance to beat Beau Greaves in the last Round.

Five maximums were thrown in that win and Humphries may do enough to edge the Match Double.

Respect has to be given to Andrew Gilding having thrown four maximums of his own to get the better of Nathan Aspinall, but Luke Humphries won a Players Championship title recently and is producing the kind of form that should see him move through to the Quarter Final behind more maximum hitting.

Jonny Clayton to win & most 180s v Keane Barry: Some of the recent meetings between Jonny Clayton and Keane Barry have been competitive, although it is the Welshman who has held himself together at key moments.

It has been two years since the last of those matches, but Jonny Clayton is playing at a very good level throughout 2026 and will be looking to make a big impact at upcoming Ranking events.

Keane Barry overcame the five maximums Chris Dobey hit against him in the Second Round, but Jonny Clayton is playing with more consistency than the man from the North East of England.

He is likely going to be outscored in that category, but Jonny Clayton's finishing should also be key in getting him through in a competitive outing.

US Open Day 3 Tennis Picks 2026 (Tuesday 1st September)

It has been a pretty intense last couple of days and that has made it difficult to sit down and write out a longer thread as the US Open has gotten underway.

That should improve as the week goes forward, but the Tennis Picks can be read below as we look to build on the opening success.

Alexander Zverev - 6.5 games v Lorenzo Sonego: The big news in the Men's draw is the early elimination of Novak Djokovic and that has only opened the draw up even further after Jannik Sinner withdraw before the tournament began. There are still lingering doubts about the overall fitness of Carlos Alcaraz and that will mean French Open Champion, Alexander Zverev, is going to be considered a big threat having been a Runner Up in New York City before.

His performances this summer will have lessened some of the enthusiasm around Alexander Zverev's prospects, but he is a very solid Grand Slam competitor and the experience cannot be underestimated the longer he remains in the tournament.

The First Round match against Lorenzo Sonego is going to be a test, but the match up is one that Alexander Zverev will be comfortable dealing with.

A couple of matches were won at Winston Salem, but Lorenzo Sonego has not enjoyed much success in the lead up to the the US Open and is playing as the World Number 89.

At 31 years old, Lorenzo Sonego will know that his best years may be behind him, but his serve can be very dangerous on the faster surfaces. However, that also means there is pressure to serve well at all times and especially in any match where he is bidding for an upset, and that has perhaps held the Italian back.

Lorenzo Sonego has held 80% of his service games in the three hard court matches against Alexander Zverev, but the latter has held 97% and that is a massive difference.

There has been a huge difference in the percentage of service points won to create that gap in the games held and the performances in the build up to the US Open suggests there will be no change to Alexander Zverev being the dominant player in this First Round contest.

Mirra Andreeva - 5.5 games v Janice Tjen: Winning the French Open title means Mirra Andreeva has already achieved one of her career ambitions, but there is so much more to come from the talented teenager.

The next step in the development is improving the hard court consistency and becoming a threat to win a Grand Slam on this surface- Mirra Andreeva has reached the Fourth Round in three consecutive years at the Australian Open, but playing in New York City is a learning experience for players and Andreeva has struggled here and yet to reach the second week.

There has been little to take from the performances in Toronto and Cincinnati, but Mirra Andreeva should be able to get through the early Round before one of the better players on the Tour will end up having too much for her.

It is unlikely that Janice Tjen is going to be that opponent having already been beaten by Mirra Andreeva once in the build up to the 2026 US Open.

Janice Tjen is the World Number 36 and only just missed out on a Seeding of her own, which has to be respected, but this is a player with an 8-13 record on the hard courts in 2026 and who is 0-5 when facing top 20 Ranked opponents.

Her numbers in those five matches against top 20 Ranked opponents have been really poor and Janice Tjen will struggle to bridge that gap.

Mirra Andreeva continues to beat those players she will expect to beat on the hard courts and her numbers have been very strong in those matches played.

When these two met in Cincinnati, Mirra Andreeva was the much stronger player and she may have enough to cover the handicap in this US Open First Round match.

World Matchplay Darts Day 3 Picks 2026 (Monday 20th July)

The First Round at the World Matchplay will be completed on Monday night and there are once again some quality looking matches to be played in the session.

Four more names will fill out the Second Round and those matches will begin tomorrow as the format moves into a best of twenty-one setting.

The schedule already looks really good for Tuesday, but the focus is the remaining First Round matches to be played before a thread for Day 4 in Blackpool is put together.

Ross Smith-Kevin Doets over 16.5 legs & over 10.5 180s: When these two players met on the floor back in May, Kevin Doets was much stronger than Ross Smith on the day and ran out a comfortable winner.

Since then, Ross Smith has shown his level on the European Tour and in other Players Championship events and he will be feeling confident ahead of this big First Round match.

The layers are finding it tough to separate them, which is a testament to how well Kevin Doets continues to play in 2026 as he looks to push up the World Rankings. Beating Ross Smith and opening up this section of the draw could allow Doets to build some real momentum in this tournament.

Both players should be able to have their moments and it would be a disappointment if this match does not need at least seventeen Legs. The power scoring of both is a big part of their darts, which will give one of the players an opportunity to run through Legs quickly if the other is not quite at the races, but you have to believe that Kevin Doets and Ross Smith are playing well enough to push the other in what could be one of the best matches of the opening Round.

Gerwyn Price to win & over 4.5 180s v Martin Schindler: Since the conclusion of the Premier League, Gerwyn Price has not really been playing as many tournaments as you may expect, while early losses in some of those he has attended means having little competitive action.

The Welshman lost his first match at the Players Championship 23 event earlier this month and did not take part the next day so you do have to wonder what kind of form he will be bringing into Blackpool.

Gerwyn Price has played well at the World Matchplay and that may give him some belief heading onto the stage, especially the fact he has beaten Martin Schindler in this format before.

And if you think Price has been out of form, Martin Schindler has really been struggling having suffered five defeats in a row- even last week in front of the home crowd, The Wall could not find his consistency on the oche and that could be a real problem against someone like Gerwyn Price.

There should be enough time for The Ice Man to find a good level in a winning effort and he can put together five maximums on his way into the Second Round.

Luke Humphries-Cameron Menzies over 15.5 legs and both over 2.5 180s: It is no surprise that Luke Humphries is a big favourite in this First Round match having reached the Nordic Darts Masters Final and then winning the US Darts Masters after coming up very narrowly short of retaining his Premier League title.

There has not been a lot of darts played in recent weeks, but Humphries has been in very good form all season and he will certainly be thinking about himself as a real contender to win the World Matchplay.

Cameron Menzies struggled for form earlier in the season having done some damage to his hand when punching the podium at the World Championship.

Recent weeks have been much better for Menzies who competed at the World Cup of Darts alongside Gary Anderson when Scotland were beaten pretty handily by an England team pairing up the two Lukes.

Since then, Cameron Menzies has won a Players Championship title and he pushed Luke Humphries all the way at the European Championships at the back end of 2025. That will give the World Number 27 some confidence and both players should be able to win at least six Legs, while also throwing at least three maximums each.

Danny Noppert-Rob Cross over 15.5 legs & Cross over 3.5 180s: There is no doubt that Danny Noppert has seen his level slip in recent weeks, but that does not mean it gives anyone the right to send the kind of vitriol that the Dutchman has been subject to on social media.

He called things out by posting the message he had been receiving, but Noppert will be hoping he can focus on his darts and build on what was a decent showing at Players Championship 24.

Last week Danny Noppert was beaten early in Leverkusen, but he should be capable of pushing Rob Cross in what is a fine First Round match to conclude Day 3 in Blackpool.

Rob Cross was in a fight to even earn a spot in the draw, but the former World Champion has found some serious form which saw him win a Players Championship title and reach the Final at a European Tour event last month. He was another that was beaten early in Leverkusen, but Cross is down as the favourite and that is not a surprise on his performances over the last several weeks.

The expectation is that both will be able to get to six Legs, but Rob Cross has been powering in the maximums and that could give him the edge in the First Round match.

Nothing will be easy, but the former World Champion can pick up four maximums in what should be a close, competitive match.

European Tour 10- European Darts Open Day 3 Picks 2026 (Sunday 12th July)

We move into Finals day at the European Darts Open and there are a number of players that are still competing who will be looking to put down a marker ahead of the World Matchplay that begins next weekend.

Luke Littler and Luke Humphries are both going to be waiting in Blackpool, but fans will be hoping that others can step up in the next Ranking event to bring some more excitement to the sport.

Wessel Nijman is one that stands out, but there are some dangerous players scattered throughout the World Matchplay draw.

Before that, the European Darts Open has to be completed with a title on the line at the end of Sunday.

The Third Round is played in the Day Session before the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Final are completed in the Evening Session and there are a number of players involved who will believe they can go all the way.

Any selections from the Evening Session will be added to this thread once the Quarter Final lineup has been confirmed.

Wessel Nijman to win & both players over 1.5 180s v Dirk van Duijvenbode: This should be another high quality battle between these two compatriots after Wessel Nijman edged past Dirk van Duijvenbode on the European Tour at the end of May.

That match ended 6-5 in favour of the in-form Wessel Nijman and another close contest is expcted.

It is largely down to the heavy scoring that Dirk van Duijvenbode can produce and he had four maximums in that loss, a number Nijman had to match.

You would expect at least two maximums each in this one and once against Wessel Nijman to find a way to edge into the Evening Session at another European Tour event.

Michael van Gerwen to win & most 180s v Damon Heta: There have been signs that the latter is getting back into the kind of form he was producing in the last couple of years after a pretty underwhelming first six months in 2026.

Damon Heta is a confidence player and can match the best when at his best, but Michael van Gerwen is certainly looking a bit more like his old self.

He came through a tough Second Round match with some big checkouts and strong scoring and that is a combination that could be difficult to deal with in Leverkusen.

The Australian can be a big maximum hitter, but van Gerwen can edge past him in that statistical column and also win this Third Round match.

Kevin Doets to win & over 2.5 180s v Sebastian Bialecki: It will have disappointed Sebastian Bialecki to have missed out on the World Matchplay, but his form over the last twelve months is improving all of the time.

You would think he would be pushing for a top 32 spot next time around, while this weekend he can be free of thought and not concern himself about the tournament beginning in Blackpool next weekend.

Kevin Doets will be there and he has just maintained a strong run of form that has him pushing towards being Seeded for these European Tour events going forward.

Beating an out of sorts Martin Schindler will still have given Doets another push forward in momentum and he was scoring well enough to complete this double and progress to the Quarter Final later in the day.

Nathan Aspinall-Ross Smith both over 2.5 180s: My only real concern about this Third Round match is that both Nathan Aspinall and Ross Smith will likely have been up late watching the England World Cup Quarter Final that concluded around 2am local time.

With the assumption that neither would have been rushing to go to sleep after the manner in which England progressed, there could be some tired minds on the stage.

It is a concern about the level of performance that may be produced, but the two are scheduled to go out pretty late and that will certainly help.

At their best, both Aspinall and Smith are big maximum hitters and they will know that they will need to score well to get the better of the other. That could help with the focus, as long as there is no significant hangover to deal with, and both are capable of peppering the treble 20 bed in a match that should go at least nine Legs.

Gian van Veen - 1.5 legs v Krzysztof Ratajski: In the last Third Round match in the Day Session, Gian van Veen and Krzysztof Ratajski will be looking to lay down a marker to the other.

A place in the Quarter Final is motivation enough, but these two players also meet in the First Round of the World Matchplay next week.

Gian van Veen is beginning to look stronger after a mid-season slump and he has the scoring and the finishing to make things difficult for any opponent. He should have a little too much for The Polish Eagle in this Third Round contest and the likelihood is that the Dutchman can progress without the need for a final Leg decider as he becomes the last player into the Quarter Final.

The ninth European Tour event of the 2026 season is going to be coming to a conclusion on Sunday and the focus has been on the Quarter Final matches after the Third Round was completed in the Afternoon Session.

It is a mixed eight player field left- there are quality operators and some underdogs who have fought through, but all will believe they can win this title.

Rob Cross-Nathan Aspinall over 5.5 180s: The winner of this Quarter Final is certainly going to feel like they can go all the way in Slovakia and pick up this European Tour title.

Both Rob Cross and Nathan Aspinall have put high quality performances on the board and these are two players capable of peppering the treble 20 bed as they have been all weekend.

The layers are finding it hard to separate the players and it would be a surprise if we are to have fewer than nine Legs to decide a winner.

That should mean there is enough time for Rob Cross and Nathan Aspinall to pile in at least six maximums in the opening Quarter Final.

Ross Smith & Wessel Nijman double: Andrew Gilding and Mike De Dekker will have something to say about things, but Ross Smith and Wessel Nijman have been regular winners on the Tour this season and they are going to be very difficult to stop before what is likely going to be a Semi Final meeting against one another.

Both Smith and Nijman have been playing with real confidence and the feeling is that they can score well enough to have the chances to win the Quarter Final matches.

There has to be a respect for Andrew Gilding for his level produced against Michael van Gerwen, but Ross Smith beat him comfortably at the UK Open and can back that up.

Wessel Nijman has won three in a row against Mike De Dekker and should be able to extend that run on current form of the two players.

World Cup of Darts Day 3 Picks 2026 (Saturday 13th June)

The Football World Cup started on Thursday on the same day as the World Cup of Darts began and this remains a popular tournament for Darts fans tuning in for a rare pairs event.

Unsurprisingly the favourites are England with the two Lukes joining together for a second year and looking to vastly improve on the opening exit twelve months ago.

Teams like Netherlands and Northern Ireland will have plenty to say about the odds with the latter of those teams the defending Champions and the former putting two Premier League participants together.

The pairs event are very different for players with one throw each meaning a significant time between stepping up to the oche compared with the usual Tour. That does make upsets more common and teams will have to be aware as to how they gel together in order to have the best run possible and that is where Northern Ireland could find a way to defend the title won last year.

With the Group Stage concluded, the Second Round is played across two Sessions and in a best of fifteen Legs format.

While some will feel that will give the better teams a chance to really impose themselves, the reality is that England's demise in the Second Round last year will just keep players and teams that much more focused as they bid to avoid doing the same.

Ireland most 180s & over 2.5 180s v Poland: Both of these teams impressed in the Group Stage and Ireland certainly look like they could be a lively underdog in the outright market.

They will have to score well to put the pressure on Poland and the Irish team have already thrown six maximums in the two Group matches played, while hitting three in each victory.

Those came in the best of nine Leg format and Ireland should have plenty of time to hit at least three maximums again.

Poland are capable of getting things going when it comes to attacking the treble 20 bed and they have to be respected, but this is a team that have been throwing big scores with consistency without needing maximums.

They are favourites to win, but Ireland are rightly favoured to have more maximums in the contest and them doing so in a match where they put at least three on the board looks the best approach to take.

Scotland - 4.5 legs v Norway: Twelve months ago, Scotland drew the short straw when being paired to face Netherlands in the Second Round, but the 8-0 defeat will have stung.

Gary Anderson is back, but this time he is being partnered by Cameron Menzies rather than Peter Wright and it will be interesting how they play together.

Both can be very good scorers and Anderson's finishing can carry the team, while Scotland also benefit from facing a much more comfortable looking opponent compared with the 2025 tournament.

Norway did not exactly light up the scoreboard in beating Finland and Hungary to top the Group Stage, and they barely got over the line in the end.

Cor Dekker is a solid competitor, but the pressure could be on partner Kent Joran Sivertsen and the expectation is that Scotland make amends for their 2025 embarrassing exit by earning a big win in the Second Round in 2026.

Wales - 2.5 legs v United States: There was some controversy surrounding Gerwyn Price's absence for the World Cup of Darts, but the tournament continues and Jonny Clayton will try and help Nick Kenny through the occasion.

Wales had two very different performances in the Group Stage, but the second was perhaps more lacklustre with Qualification effectively secured before the match against Thailand begun.

It could have led to a loss of focus, but Clayton and Kenny have more to give and the upper level may be too much for a steady United States to compete.

Coming through a Group containing Australia and Canada will give the USA a huge amount of confidence, but they may need another gear if the Welsh are now a little more focused moving into the Knock Out Rounds.

The draw looks tough with the winner set to face either England or Spain in the Quarter Final, but Wales could move into that Round behind a confident win as long as Jonny Clayton and Nick Kenny rediscover the scoring from Thursday.

Germany - 1.5 legs v Czechia: This looks like a potentially quality Second Round match on paper, but the home crowd are surely going to help push Germany over the line.

Both of the teams impressed in the Group Stage, but it was Germany who produced the higher level during the two wins they produced compared with Czechia, who were steady in the first game and more impressive in the second.

Last year Germany reached the Semi Final of the World Cup of Darts and the team will be confident that they can help one another through difficult moments.

Czechia also reached the Knock Out Rounds last year and they look a stronger team with Adam Gawlas joining 'Evil Charlie', but Germany may have the upper hand in the scoring stakes and that can see them edge through without a deciding Leg.

England over 4.5 180s v Spain: Luke Humphries and Luke Littler too chunks out of one another in the Premier League Final at the end of May, but they will be pairing up for a second time at the World Cup of Darts with redemption on the mind.

They were huge favourites to win this tournament last year, but England were upset by Germany in the Second Round.

Both Littler and Humphries seem to get on well enough, but they are also rivals at the very top of the sport and it would not surprise if privately they would prefer to play with someone else rather than one another.

However, they should be better than they were twelve months ago and both players will have something to prove.

Spain came through an awkward looking Group and eliminated the Seeded team of Croatia, but this is a big step upwards and the team will have to be better.

Cristo Reyes has shown he can produce a high level this year, but England's power scoring is likely going to give them the edge- last year they had five maximums in a defeat and England can reach that number in what is likely to be a winning effort in the Second Round this time around.

The tournament is going to be completed on Sunday, but there have not been a lot of good angles to play over the last two Rounds.

The Baltic Sea Darts Open completed the Third Round earlier in the day and the Quarter Final matches have been set, which begin at the earlier time of 5pm in the United Kingdom.

French Open Tennis Day 3 Picks 2026 (Tuesday 26th May)

It has been a decent start to the French Open for the Tennis Picks, but Day 3 is the busiest in terms of number of Picks selected.

Over the course of a fortnight of selections, there are going to be some difficult moments and the key is to try and limit those, while making sure that you make hay when the sun is shining.

It has been shining very hard in Paris this week and the conditions look like they are going to continue to be a big factor in the tournament, at least through to the second week. That means players are simply trying to make sure they are not exerting too much energy to battle through the opening week, but there has to be a balance between aggression and pushing the envelope too far, which would suddenly mean being dragged into an unnecessary battle.

The numbers from the first two days can be seen below, but before that is the Day 3 Picks.

Coco Gauff - 5.5 games v Taylor Townsend: There will be plenty of familiarity when these two American players meet in the First Round of the French Open, but it is no surprise that the defending Champion is set as a significant favourite.

She was beaten in the Rome Final, but Coco Gauff had that happen to her twelve months ago before picking up the French Open title weeks later.

The World Number 4 will likely be the first to admit that she has not quite reached the heights of 2025 as far as the clay court form goes, but Coco Gauff is still playing at a high level. That should be good enough to negotiate the early Rounds from her Seeding, although the expectation is that real improvement will be needed in the second week of this Grand Slam if Coco Gauff is going to defend the title won here last year.

Most will expect Coco Gauff to get off to a positive start on Tuesday on Day 3 of the French Open when she takes on Taylor Townsend, who is much more known for her work on the Doubles side of the Tour.

There has been very little consistent success as a Singles player on the clay courts over the last couple of years and even in the build up to the French Open, Taylor Townsend has struggled when facing the better players on the Tour. She has a 4-2 record on the clay courts, but that becomes 1-2 when only focusing on matches against players Ranked inside the top 100 and the numbers on the serve and return have been heavily impacted when facing those players.

Credit has to be given to the World Number 75 for earning her spot in the main draw without having to go through the Qualifiers, as Townsend did last year, but she was well beaten in the First Round and this looks a very tough match up on paper.

In their sole meeting back in 2019, Taylor Townsend got the better of Coco Gauff, but she was 200 places above her in the World Rankings and things have changed for both since those days.

Familiarity with what to expect should help the lower Ranked American, but it feels like a First Round match that the favourite will eventually showcase the difference in quality and be able to pull away for a good, solid win.

Madison Keys - 5.5 games v Hanne Vandewinkel: At 22 years old, it is no surprise that Hanne Vandewinkel has looked to take the next step in her development by entering bigger events.

She had a solid clay court record at the lower level, which will make her dangerous, but Hanne Vandewinkel has struggled t0 a 3-6 record on the surface in 2026 and she was one of the late direct entries into the main draw at the French Open.

The three clay court wins have all been against players Ranked outside of the top 100, while the youngster has really had some issues protecting the serve when it comes to the better players on the Tour.

On any other surface, Madison Keys would be a big favourite to beat the Belgian, but she feels a little underrated in this spread considering the kind of performances the World Number 19 can produce on the red dirt. Last year Keys reached the Quarter Final at the French Open, so there is some pressure to defend Ranking Points, but that is a run that has been backed up by a 5-2 record on the clay since the move from Charleston.

European clay events are more important as a form indicator and Madison Keys reached the Final of a 125 level tournament in the build up to the French Open.

While not being the biggest of statements to do that, Madison Keys will feel it is a level that should provide opponents of the level she is facing in the First Round and that should show up on the final scoreboard.

However, there is the one concern about the thigh issue that forced her to withdraw from the Final of the Paris 125 event and also meant Madison Keys withdrew from Strasbourg. It sounded like a precaution in the last event before the French Open, but that is the only negative to this selection, which raises a slight concern.

The feeling is that Madison Keys will be good enough if she does step onto the court and her power could prove decisive as she looks to limit the time needed to get through the First Round ahead of bigger challenges to come.

Luciano Darderi - 1.5 sets v Sebastian Ofner: The top of Italian Tennis is dominated by Jannik Sinner, who will be entering the French Open as the top Seed and clear favourite to win the title in Paris for the first time.

However, there are a number of other men's players from Italy who have made an impact on the Tour and Luciano Darderi could be next in line.

He is the World Number 17 and that says something about the consistency of the performances when you think Luciano Darderi has only made the second week of a Grand Slam once and that was in Melbourne back in January.

Of course that means having little to defend in terms of World Ranking Points and Luciano Darderi has to take advantage of being a Seeded player- he has never been beyond the Second Round at the French Open and that is a real surprise when you think of the kind of tennis he plays on the clay courts.

A Semi Final run at the Rome Masters and then the Quarter Final run at Hamburg should mean the Italian is heading into this First Round match with confidence, although he will have respect for veteran Sebastian Ofner, even if the World Ranking has slipped to 91.

Sebastian Ofner has won ten of eighteen clay court matches this season, but that slips to two of five when considering top 100 Ranked opponents and one of four when only focusing on top 50 Ranked opponents. He has continued to serve well enough in those matches, but Ofner has seen his returning numbers decline the higher the Ranked opponent faced and that has put him under pressure.

It feels like that could be the difference in this match and Luciano Darderi has provided stronger serving numbers when facing those opponents outside of the top 50 in the World Rankings. He has won twelve of sixteen clay court matches in that spot this season, while Darderi beat Sebastian Ofner on the clay courts for the loss of just three games in the sole previous match up on the red dirt.

The 24 year old Italian can still be erratic at times, but he should have enough to win this match and to do so without needing a deciding set- it is perhaps more likely Luciano Darderi wins in four sets, rather than straight sets, but backing the Seeded player to come through and cover the set handicap looks the play.

The fans have a really good day of Darts to enjoy, although the hope is those who want to try and ruin the day by whistling constantly have been found out and refused entry. It has become a problem that is has to be dealt with not only by the referees and players, but by security with people identified and kicked out of the Arena.

Stephen Bunting to win & over 1.5 180s v Rob Cross: Twelve months ago, Rob Cross and Stephen Bunting had both been involved in the Premier League and it was Voltage who had been getting the better of The Bullet.

However, it is Bunting who won the last three meetings in 2025 as they prepare to face one another for the first time in 2026 and the defending Champion made a very strong start to the tournament.

Rob Cross has been playing really well too and he has taken advantage of the withdrawals that have allowed him to compete here this weekend. He was a comfortable winner over Mike De Dekker in the Second Round, but Stephen Bunting is playing at a high level having won the Premier League Night on Thursday before winning his Second Round match here on Saturday.

It is the stronger scoring of Stephen Bunting that could be the key to the outcome of this match and the momentum is with the World Number 10 to do that and contribute a couple of maximums to the cause.

Ross Smith to win & most 180s v Ricardo Pietreczko: Dartitis is not something you wish to see anyone struggling with and it has been giving Ricardo Pietreczko problems all season.

You can see he is trying to work through a motion that could help, but Pikachu will be just as surprised as most observers that he has managed to win two matches.

Beating Danny Noppert will give the home player massive confidence, but Ross Smith had a solid couple of days at Players Championship events early last week and his win over Joe Cullen was very impressive.

It feels like a matter of time before Ross Smith wins one of these big events and he can use his power scoring to put himself in a position to reach the Quarter Final against an opponent who has surprised everyone to merely still be competing on Sunday afternoon.

The wide open Austrian Darts Open concludes on Sunday and the manner of the Wessel Nijman defeat is a reminder of the depth of talent on the Tour.

He has been domnating on the floor all season, but Nijman had no answers for Niko Springer who blitzed past him to set up a big Third Round match with Josh Rock.

And while I have stated that the tournament looks wide open, there are plenty of big names in action on Sunday to suggest a familiar player can come through to pick up the title at the end of the Evening Session.

As has been the case with previous tournaments, any selections from the Quarter Final matches will be added to this thread at the conclusion of the Day Session when the entire Third Round is completed,

Kevin Deots to win & most 180s v Ryan Joyce: Credit has to be given to Relentless for finding enough big scoring and his usual level at the doubles in his upset win on Saturday.

However, he was aided by a poor performance from Mike De Decker and is unlikely to have the same slackness coming out of the darts of Kevin Doets.

The Dutchman is finding some real consistency on the Tour and he should have the edge on the maximums, even if Kevin Doets has not been hitting a lot of them over this weekend. He remains someone who can find a rhythm around the treble 20 bed and Kevin Doets can do what is needed to get the better of a solid competitor.

James Wade v Luke Woodhouse: This looks to be a quality Third Round match, but the slight edge has to be with James Wade, who beat Luke Woodhouse twice on the European Tour last year.

Respect has to be given to Woodhouse for reaching the Players Championship 13 Final last week and he has moved into the top 20 of the World Rankings thanks to a consistently improving twelve months.

The scoring can be strong enough to give the best players a problem, but James Wade remains a player who will stick around and battle and make sure he is in a position to take advantage of any mistakes.

Both Seeded players had strong wins on Saturday and this is likely going to be nip and tuck.

With that in mind, James Wade's temperament may just give him the edge.

Michael van Gerwen to win & over 1.5 180s v Rob Cross: This was a Premier League match twelve months ago and that will make sure Michael van Gerwen is taking nothing for granted.

You can't really do that against a former World Champion anyway and there have been some signs that Rob Cross is picking up his form after dropping out of the top 20 in the World Rankings.

In the last few weeks, Rob Cross has had some decent floor efforts and the European Tour win on Saturday will have done him the world of good.

Another level will have to be found to beat Michael van Gerwen.

The Dutchman has looked like he is getting closer and closer to his best in the Premier League this season and his own Second Round win came through another very impressive showing.

MvG should win and he can add a couple more maximums to his two from yesterday in a victory.

Ross Smith-Martin Schindler over 5.5 180s: When these two players find their rhythm, the maximum hitting can be a joy to watch.

Both Ross Smith and Martin Schindler displayed that part of their darts in Second Round wins and there is every chance that this is a Third Round match that will need at least nine Legs to separate them.

With that much time on the oche, both are capable of contributing to this total line set for the maximums.

A blowout one way or the other would end the chances, but matches between Smith and Schindler have been competitive in recent battles and there is every expectation that will be another with a big Quarter Final berth on the line.

Quarter Finals: The opening Quarter Final looks like it could produce the winner of the tournament, but it is a tough one to call.

The next three have selections from the Austrian Darts Open as it is played to a conclusion this evening.

Rob Cross was excellent in his win over Michael van Gerwen and he can back that up against Andrew Gilding, while adding a couple of maximums.

The same can be produced by Josh Rock in what looks to be another fascinating Quarter Final against Cristo Reyes- the latter deserves so much respect for the standard produced since returning to the Tour and he will push the Premier League participant in this one.

Finally the expectation is that Martin Schindler can get the better of Daryl Gurney at an event the German clearly enjoys.

Maximum hitting has been fuelling the success over this weekend and that can be the case in this last eight clash.

During the Day Session, Luke Littler was beaten and that is going to mean the remaining eight players are filled with extra confidence that they can go on and win the title here.

Niels Zonneveld over 2.5 180s & Danny Noppert over 1.5 180s: The big test for Niels Zonneveld is going to be backing up the upset over Luke Littler from earlier in the day.

He played really well in that Third Round match and has come through a couple of final Leg deciders and Niels Zonneveld has been hitting the maximums for fun.

Danny Noppert is also a big maximum hitter and backing the two players to hit a number of those looks the right way to take this Quarter Final on board.

Jonny Clayton to win & over 2.5 180s v Andy Baetens: The home crowd will be firmly behind Andy Baetens who has had a very strong weekend with upsets loaded up.

He will be looking for another against a Premier League opponent in this Quarter Final having already beaten Stephen Bunting, but Jonny Clayton continues to produce quality darts every time he steps to the oche.

Losing early on Night 7 of the Premier League has not dented the confidence of the leader in the standings, and Jonny Clayton can find a way to get past the home player.

Jonny Clayton can hit plenty of maximums when he gets into a groove and this could be a match that goes nine or more Legs, which should give the Welshman a chance to get up to three maximums hit.

Luke Humphries to win & both over 1.5 180s v Chris Dobey: There are no outright markets set until the Third Round is complete, but Luke Humphries has to feel a big opportunity has opened up to win this title.

Criticism from social media has clearly bothered Luke Humphries this weekend, but he has used that to fuel him and the World Number 2 continues to produce quality darts.

He needs to back those up with doubling to win a big title, but he can get the better of Chris Dobey in what should be a big hitting Quarter Final.

The former Premier League contender is fighting to get back amongst the elite and Chris Dobey can be very strong on his day- he hits plenty of 180s, but he may not have the consistency to keep up with Luke Humphries and the latter can earn a spot in the Semi Final later in the day.

Miami Tennis Day 3 Picks 2026 (Thursday 19th March)

Early reports indicated it was going to be a wet start to the Miami Masters, but a complete washout on Day 2 is a real disappointment for the fans.

It all adds up to an extremely busy Thursday when almost the entire First Round of the ATP tournament and the majority of the WTA event have to be completed- some of the Second Round matches that were due to be played on Thursday are scheduled to go out on the new Stadium court, but we are already in catch up mode at the tournament.

The two selections that were made from Day 2 will have to be played on Thursday and there are two more selections below that were originally in the batch of remaining First Round matches due to be played on Day 3.

A few Second Round selections had been identified from the WTA event being played here, but those will be out in the Day 4 thread- with the majority of those matches set to be scheduled for Friday being put together at the end of play on Thursday, further selections will be added to that thread on the day as we also try to keep up with a tournament that would have appreciated having some tennis on Day 2 instead of the complete wipeout of a day.

Marin Cilic - 2.5 games v Alexei Popyrin: He will be turning 38 years old later this year, but Marin Cilic still feels he has enough in the tank to compete at a level that will make him feel satisfied. Early results have been pretty solid in 2026, including reaching a Semi Final in Dallas, but Marin Cilic suffered opening defeats in Delray Beach and Indian Wells.

Instead of taking in a Challenger event last week, Marin Cilic will have headed over to Miami and begun preparation for the next Masters event on the calendar.

The faster surfaces remain his favourite domain and Marin Cilic may be targeting a strong run that can help him move closer to the Seeding positions for the next two Grand Slams on the clay courts and grass courts. You would definitely like his chances of having an impact at Wimbledon, but Marin Cilic is pretty competent on all surfaces and he is rightly set as the favourite for this First Round match.

Alexei Popyrin entered the top 20 of the World Rankings in August 2025 to reach a new career high mark, but his form since then has been disappointing.

Now the Australian will be entering the Miami Masters as the World Number 47 and it is really concerning to see Alexei Popyrin holding a 9-23 record on the hard courts since the beginning of the 2025 season. He is at 2-8 for the 2026 season and that is largely down the pressure that Popyrin has faced on the return with less than 30% of returning points won in those ten matches.

The serve will always be a potentially dangerous weapon, but Alexei Popyrin has not been able to play the big points effectively with the pressure that has been put on him by his own struggles.

Marin Cilic can put pressure on with his own strong serve, while the veteran has also been the much more effective return player in the opening months of the season.

The 2-1 head to head in favour of the Croatian will also help mentally and that includes a very strong win in Miami, albeit back in 2022.

The last meeting came thirteen months ago on the hard courts of Dubai, and Marin Cilic rallied in that one for another victory over Alexei Popyrin and he may have the higher confidence level to come through this First Round match.

Alex Michelsen - 3.5 games v Mattia Bellucci: Any time someone comes through the Qualifiers, they have to be respected and that is certainly the case for Mattia Bellucci who also reached the Final of a Challenger event in between these two big Masters events played in North America.

That run will have given him confidence, although it should also be noted it would have been in a field where players are not quite of the level that he is going to be facing in the main draw.

However, this is a winnable match for the lefty and Mattia Bellucci will have some confidence behind him after a difficult opening to the 2026 season- he will surely be looking forward to the run on the clay courts coming up, but Bellucci has shown he can be competitive on the hard courts.

Over the last twelve months he has tended to struggle against the higher Ranked opponents faced though and that is the situation for the Italian in the Miami First Round.

Alex Michelsen has had some mixed results, but a strong run in Indian Wells will have done him the world of good and he can use the home crowd to push through this opening match.

At 21 years old, Michelsen will know there is room for improvement, but he has a serve that can be effective and his return numbers have been much better when facing those Ranked below him. That is evident over the last twelve months and Alex Michelsen is expected to get the better of Mattia Bellucci having beaten him on the Washington hard courts a little over eighteen months ago.

European 2 Tour- European Darts Trophy Day 3 Picks 2026 (Sunday 15th March)

The absence of the two big names on the Tour have hurt the European Darts Trophy, but not enough to suggest the Third Round does not look like a strong lineup regardless.

With the Rankings used for the European Tour, it is a shame that the likes of Danny Noppert and Gerwyn Price are playing in the Third Round, rather than further down the line towards the business end of the tournament.

The winner of that match is going to be very difficult to beat later in the day, while there are plenty of other players still involved in the draw that will recognise the opportunity in front of them to pick up a big title with both Lukes and Michael van Gerwen out of the tournament. That does mean having to deal with a different kind of pressure with the expectations greater than they perhaps would be if the top two players in the world were also taking part, but it should also mean another good day of darts.

As is the case with the majority of the European Tour events, the Third Round is completed in the Day Session before the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Final are played in a busy Evening Session.

Jermaine Wattimena v Niels Zonneveld: Backing up a big win over Michael van Gerwen would be tough in most cases, but it is that much more difficult for Niels Zonneveld when facing an opponent who has gotten the better of him in recent matches.

Three matches in 2025 all ended in Jermaine Wattimena wins and this could be another that ends up trending towards the higher Ranked player.

Jermaine Wattimena has not been operating at the same level he ended 2025, but the close win in the Second Round will give him confidence.

A final Leg decider would not be a big surprise, but it is Wattimena who can do enough to reach a Quarter Final on Sunday.

Chris Dobey v Josh Rock: A solid win in the Second Round will have been a boost for Josh Rock, but this has been a tough match up for him.

The power scoring of Chris Dobey makes him very dangerous and there may be a point to be made about losing his Premier League place and having Rock join that elite competition instead.

Chris Dobey did not need that big time scoring to win in the Second Round, which likely means more is to come from him, and he can keep Josh Rock under pressure and test the doubling.

Again, this is likely to be a close match, but Chris Dobey can find a way to move past Josh Rock yet again.

Gian van Veen v Wessel Nijman: He has just hit a poor run of form, but the win in the Second Round and the manner in which Gian van Veen produced that will have done him the world of good.

Losses can feel like they are being strung together when playing in the Premier League, and so it will be important for van Veen to have produced a victory here in Germany.

He does have a tough Third Round match against Wessel Nijman, but there is a pecking order in Dutch darts and Gian van Veen has won the last five between these players.

Wessel Nijman is playing well and putting plenty of wins on the board, but he may have to overcome a mental obstacle in this one and that may see him come up short against the World Number 3.

They do have challenges- Smith is playing a home player who will be receiving huge support, while van Duijvenbode has to be prepared for the pace, or lack of pace, that Mensur Suljovic will employ to disrupt opponents.

However, the Dutchman has a good recent record against Suljovic and can power past him.

Ross Smith will have plenty of respect for Nico Springer, but Smudger is playing well and can edge through to a Quarter Final here at the expense of the last German left in the tournament.

The 'FA Cup of Darts' is played to a conclusion on Sunday with the Quarter Finals up first in the Day Session and then the Semi Finals and Final all completed later in the Evening Session.

Luke Littler remains in the tournament and that means he remains the big favourite to win the title here for a second year in a row as he continues to dominate the scene.

You would expect Danny Noppert to have something to say about that after beating Luke Humphries in the Sixth Round, but Littler is hard to beat over these longer formats and incredibly hard to beat when he motivates himself to chalk off records.

The remaining six players in the draw will all believe they can go on and win the title- James Wade and Rob Cross are just reminding people of how well they can play, while the two Welshmen taking part in the Premier League, Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price, will take huge confidence into the Semi Final by getting the better of the other in the Quarter Final.

Josh Rock will certainly be hoping his run over the last couple of days can inspire a Premier League win on Night 6 of the tournament on Thursday, but all eyes are on Luke Littler and he looks the man to beat.

After a poor Day 1 for the Darts Picks, a strong run on Day 2 has just turned things around.

Josh Rock - 1.5 legs v Krzysztof Ratajski: We have yet to see Josh Rock win a match in the Premier League, but he had a strong run at the World Masters and has backed that up at the UK Open.

You can never dismiss the ability of Krzysztof Ratajski to cause an upset, but Rocky has found a way past the Polish player in recent head to heads and the performances so far this weekend suggest he can do the same again.

There have been some very good wins produced by Ratajski too, but Josh Rock may just have the slight edge and is capable of coming through with a 10-7 kind of scoreline

James Wade & Rob Cross over 3.5 180s: Two very experienced players face off in the Quarter Final having produced some very strong darts over the last couple of days.

These Ranking events should give James Wade a lot of motivation to remind the PDC that they should have included him in the Premier League this year.

Dominating wins behind big scoring saw Wade come through two matches with the loss of just five Legs on Saturday and he is capable of producing at least four maximums here.

You have to expect Wade to be pushed a bit more by Rob Cross, who has looked close to his best in the Minehead this weekend.

Like his opponent, Rob Cross has found plenty of maximums in his outings and both players hitting at least four looks a big price.

Luke Littler over 6.5 180s v Danny Noppert: He has not always enjoyed the Day Sessions as much as the Evening, but Danny Noppert's win over Luke Humphries should have focused Luke Littler.

There is no doubt that Littler is going to need to produce some strong darts to beat an opponent who felt he did enough to earn a Premier League spot in 2025.

Danny Noppert has refused to allow that disappointment to overshadow his 2026 though and the win over Humphries will have given him plenty of confidence.

It should mean the Dutchman is able to offer some resistance, but Luke Littler showed his scoring power in the win over Gary Anderson in the Sixth Round and he can produce at least seve maximums in this Quarter Final.

Gerwyn Price win & over 8.5 match 180s v Jonny Clayton: A long losing run was snapped by Jonny Clayton when he beat Gerwyn Price in the Premier League a couple of weeks ago, but the latter got back to winning ways against his compatriot in a Player Championship event since then.

You have to believe the Ice Man can continue to get the better of Clayton over this best of nineteen Leg format.

However, the current Premier League leader is producing some really good darts at the moment and he will certainly give Gerwyn Price something to think about.

Both should be able to put together plenty of maximums in a match that may need at least seventeen Legs to decide a winner and the edge has to be with Price to be that winner considering how so many matches between the two Welshmen have gone in recent times.

Gerwyn Price win & over 5.5 180s v James Wade: Both players came through Quarter Final matches in eighteen or more Legs, but Gerwyn Price was much more impressive than James Ward.

Big scoring power overwhelmed compatriot Jonny Clayton in a high level performance and Gerwyn Price is capable of keeping that going in the Semi Final.

He will want to make things a little more straight-forward to keep something in the tank for the Final, but James Ward is unlikely to roll over.

The Machine did have a tough time getting over the line against Rob Cross and it can be tough maintaining a strong level throughout the day- James Ward will believe he can score well enough and has the kind of finishing that will continue to make him dangerous, but Gerwyn Price may have enough to secure the spot in the Final.

If he can power in the maximums as he was doing in the Quarter Final, Price should be able to make this a touch more comfortable.

Luke Littler over 0.5 100+ checkout & over 6.5 180s v Josh Rock: Midway through the Quarter Final, it may have felt like Danny Noppert was going to move into a position to upset the World Number 1.

However, Luke Littler continues to show his superiority over the majority of the Tour when it comes the longer match format and he should be able to get the better of Josh Rock in the Semi Final.

The Northern Irishman will be very aware that he needs to improve his overall level if he is going to beat Luke Littler, but that looks a big ask.

Maximum hitting has not been as prolific as we have come to expect from Luke Littler, but he should have a few more Legs to get his rhythm going, while the combination finishing always gives him a chance to checkout a ton plus finish.
