European Tour 14- Swiss Darts Trophy Day 2 Picks 2026 (Saturday 10th October)

The latest European Tour event moves into the Second Round and the introduction of the top Seeded players that have travelled to Basel.

There were some very good performances on Friday and the fight for places at the European Championships will only ramp up from here.

Sixteen Second Round matches are scheduled for the Swiss Darts Trophy on Saturday with the play split across two Sessions.

Ross Smith to win & over 2.5 180s v William O'Connor: It was a comfortable win for William O'Connor in the First Round, but he will be the first to admit that another level will need to be found if he is going to beat the top performer on the European Tour in 2026.

Ross Smith will be disappointed with his performance at the World Grand Prix, but he won a big title at the World Series of Darts Finals and this is a player that looks to be heading towards a peak.

He has enjoyed playing on the European stage and Ross Smith has the kind of darts that will make him dangerous at every big event yet to be played in the calendar year.

Maximum hitting is always an important part of his game, but Ross Smith has been backing hat up with strong Doubles and he should have enough to complete both parts of this selection.

Chris Dobey-Bradley Brooks both over 2.5 180s: Ten Legs were played in Bradley Brooks' First Round win over Niels Zonneveld and the two players combined for thirteen maximums.

Bradley Brooks had six of those maximums and he can add at least three more in a match that may need at least nine Legs to be played.

Recent results suggest Bradley Brooks will struggle to reproduce the form shown on Friday, but he is someone who can find a good rhythm around the treble 20 bed.

Next up is a match against Seeded Chris Dobey who had two strong runs at Players Championship 29 and 30 and this is a player that has continued to be one of the best maximum hitters on the Tour.

He is more than capable of producing at least three 180s here and this could be the best Second Round match of a good looking Day Session.

Josh Rock to win & most 180s v Dave Chisnall: It has been a year in which Dave Chisnall has produced too many performances like the one he put together in the First Round, although he has not been able to get through too many of those matches.

Alan Soutar missed too many chances in the First Round, but Dave Chisnall will need to improve his scoring if he is going to give Josh Rock a run for his money.

The Northern Irishman has lot three matches in a row and Josh Rock will have been disappointed with his early defeat at the World Grand Prix.

2026 has not been a great year for Josh Rock and not the one expected, but he is still capable of stringing the run of Legs together and Rocky can pummel the treble 20 bed when he finds his rhythm.

Josh Rock can win the match and he should have the power scoring to edge Dave Chisnall in the maximum hitting market.

Jonny Clayton to win & over 2.5 180s v Maik Kuivenhoven: He looks in a decent position to reach the European Championships, but Jonny Clayton will arrive in Basel looking for a couple more wins to secure his place.

His runs at the World Series of Darts Finals and World Grand Prix were both ended by Gerwyn Price, but Jonny Clayton did beat Maik Kuivenhoven in the first of those Ranking tournaments.

Maik Kuivenhoven beat Raymond van Barneveld in the First Round, but will need to improve his level a little more if he is going to upset a player who competed in the Premier League earlier this season.

When they played in Amsterdam at the World Series of Darts Finals, Jonny Clayton did manage to put four maximums on the board and he can get to at least three in a winning effort on Saturday.
